Procell Treatment - 90 minutes: Aftercare for the First 48 Hours image

I’ve had clients tell me their Procell treatment is “removing my malasma… it actually freaking works, ” and the fastest way to protect that kind of momentum is simple: for the first 48 hours, keep heat, sweat, active skincare, and direct sun off your skin. Keep things calm, clean, and moisturized. If you’re heading out into San Bruno’s cool foggy morning air, don’t let that fool you. Daytime rays still hit, especially in fall when the sun sits low and bright.

0–24 hours after Procell microchanneling treatment: keep it clean and cool

Right after your 90-minute Procell treatment, your skin is doing the work. Microchanneling plus a stem cell serum is all about absorption and repair, so the goal is to avoid anything that adds heat or irritation.

For the first day: I generally recommend a gentle, non-foaming cleanse only, no makeup for at least 24 hours, and no sweaty workouts, saunas, or hot showers.

Do this

  • Cleanse with lukewarm water and a gentle, non-foaming cleanser. Pat dry, don’t rub.
  • Use only the calming serums and barrier support I recommended for you. Simple is the win.
  • Keep hands off your face. No picking, no exfoliating tools, no facial devices.
  • If you’re commuting home to South San Francisco, Daly City, Colma, Brisbane, Millbrae, or Burlingame, bring a clean hat and keep your face out of direct sun through the car window.

Skip this

  • Hot yoga, spin, runs, heavy lifting, and anything that makes you sweat a lot.
  • Steam rooms, saunas, hot tubs, and long hot showers.
  • Makeup, especially heavier foundation and powder, until that 24-hour mark has passed.

24–72 hours: when SPF comes back, and what “normal” looks like

Most people look a bit pink or feel tight and dry as the skin settles. That’s common after procell microchanneling treatment. This is also when aftercare mistakes tend to show up: extra redness after a workout, dryness from using actives too soon, or irritation from sun exposure.

Keep cleansing gently and keep hydration going. If your skin looks closed and you’re not seeing open micro-injuries, I generally have you start a mineral, broad-spectrum sunscreen. And yes, even in Downtown San Bruno when it feels cloudy.

Quick reality check: Fog doesn’t block all UV. If you’re grabbing a quick product run at Tanforan or walking along San Mateo Avenue, cover up and use SPF once your skin is ready for it.

I also recommend skipping swimming pools and hot tubs for 72 hours. Chlorine, heat, and bacteria risk are not worth it in the first few days.

Days 3–7: the “don’t sabotage it” week for pigment and texture

This is the week I want you thinking about consistency. Procell treatment is often chosen for pigmentation, texture, acne scarring, and that firmer look that comes with collagen support. I’ve seen clients get excited because they’re already noticing change, then accidentally stir things up with a peel pad or a retinoid.

“Her procell treatment is removing my malasma on my face. It actually freaking works!”

For 5–14 days, I usually have you avoid active ingredients unless I tell you otherwise. That includes retinoids, AHAs/BHAs, strong vitamin C, and anything peel-related like a chemical peel or retinol peel. If you’re someone who rotates in dermaplaning, microdermabrasion, or a back facial, pause and ask me first so we time it correctly.

If you’re itching to “do more, ” don’t. Keep SPF, hydration, and a calm routine. That’s how the smoothing and brightening tends to look better week over week.

The simple routine I want you on after Procell treatment

I’m big on results that last, and that usually means a routine you’ll actually do. After Procell, think of your skin like it’s in “quiet mode.” Here’s the structure I typically recommend.

AM: gentle cleanse, calming or hydrating serum (the one I recommended), barrier cream if you’re dry, then mineral broad-spectrum SPF when your skin is closed.

PM: gentle cleanse, hydrating serum, barrier cream. No scrubs, no acids, no retinoids until I clear you.

And yes, I love advanced services. I do led light therapy facial sessions (your Procell service already includes Celluma Elite LED), plus options like nano infusion facial, microcurrent facial, radio frequency facial, buccal massage, and face sculpting. The key is timing, so your skin keeps improving instead of getting irritated.

If something feels “off, ” here’s when I want you to reach out

I keep my studio calm and unrushed on purpose. People tell me they feel comfortable, cared for, and “fully taken care of from start to finish, ” and aftercare is part of that. If you’re unsure about a product, a workout, or an event you can’t skip, message or call me before you guess.

“I’m always excited to visit Dhin because I know I’ll always be taken care of and leave glowing!”

Here are the red flags. Don’t wait on these: prolonged heavy bleeding, severe swelling, fever, increasing heat, pus, or anything that looks like infection. If you’re traveling through SFO or flying the same day, keep it clean, hands off, and avoid face-touching in the airport. If you can’t avoid sun exposure, cover up with a hat and stay in the shade as much as possible.
