Procell Skin Treatment: Your First 72-Hour Aftercare Plan
By Glow Esthetics Skincare and Wellness BY DHIN | October 13, 2026
I’ll start with the single most important rule: hands off and keep it clean. A recent Procell guest told me the treatment is “removing my malasma… It actually freaking works!” and aftercare is a big part of protecting that kind of result. In San Bruno, it’s normal to see redness and a little swelling in the first couple days. Let your skin do its thing, skip the heat and friction, and use only the post-treatment serum I send you home with.
Quick reality check: microchanneling is a controlled skin injury. For 72 hours, treat your face like it’s in “quiet mode.” No makeup, no sweating it out, and no active skincare unless I’ve told you otherwise.
0 to 48 hours after Procell treatment: what I want you doing (and skipping)
Your Procell Treatment, 90 minutes, includes numbing for comfort, Celluma Elite LED, a hydrating mask, cryo globes, and even a hand and foot massage. It’s a lot of good support for your skin in one visit. The part that protects your investment happens next, at home.
Right when you get home
- Keep your skin clean and untouched. Don’t pick, scrub, or “check texture” with your fingertips.
- I generally recommend gentle cleansing only if you need it. No cleansing devices, no exfoliating cloths.
- Apply only the growth-factor or hyaluronic serum I provide after your procell microchanneling treatment. Skip your usual serums for now.
What to avoid for the first 24 to 72 hours
- No makeup. I know it’s tempting if you’re commuting through Downtown San Bruno, but give those channels time to close.
- No sweating sessions. Skip strenuous exercise, saunas, hot tubs, and steam for 48 to 72 hours to lower irritation and infection risk.
- No actives. Hold retinoids, retinol peel products, acids, and exfoliants (including scrubs and many “brightening” pads) for at least 24 to 72 hours. If I gave you a specific number, follow that.
- No pool or ocean. Chlorine, salt, and shared water aren’t your friend in the first few days.
SFO travelers: flying the same day is often doable since Procell isn’t typically heavy downtime, but plan for visible redness. Keep skin clean, don’t apply makeup in the airport bathroom, and pack your post-care serum in an easy-to-reach spot.
Days 3 to 7: the “it looks better so I can…” week
This is the week people get a little brave. Your redness calms down, your skin feels smoother, and suddenly you want to restart everything. Slow down. Procell treatment is working under the surface, especially for concerns like pigmentation and acne scarring.
If you’re seeing early brightening, keep protecting it. One Procell guest put it best: “Her procell treatment is removing my malasma… It actually freaking works!” I want you to keep that momentum by avoiding the classic setbacks, heat, sun, and over-exfoliation.
What I want you focused on
- Keep cleansing gentle. If you’re flaky, don’t “polish it off.” Let it shed naturally.
- Moisture is your best friend. Dryness often shows up around day 3 to 5.
- Sun protection stays non-negotiable. Even with San Bruno’s cool marine layer, UV exposure is year-round.
Commute tip: If you’re walking San Mateo Avenue in San Bruno Village or sitting near a sunny car window, wear broad-spectrum SPF once your skin can tolerate it and reapply if you’re out for more than a quick errand.
Your Procell aftercare routine: simple products, steady habits
I’m not trying to overhaul your entire shelf. After a procell skin treatment, simple wins. The goal is to support healing and keep inflammation low so you get the smoother, firmer feel this service is known for.
My “keep it boring” checklist
- Cleanser: gentle, non-scrub, no exfoliating beads.
- Serum: only the clinician-approved post-treatment growth-factor or hyaluronic serum I provide.
- Moisturizer: bland and comforting. Fragrance-heavy products tend to sting right now.
- SPF: broad-spectrum during the day once your skin is ready for it.
If you’re booking other services around your Procell series, tell me. I’ll help you space things out so your skin isn’t doing too much at once. That includes a chemical peel, microdermabrasion, dermaplaning, hydrodermabrasion, nano infusion facial, microcurrent facial, radio frequency facial, face sculpting, buccal massage, or even a back facial. And yes, you can absolutely keep doing body care like a brazilian wax, lash lift, lymphatic drainage massage, or deep tissue massage. We’ll just time it so your face gets a calm window to heal.

When to text or call me after Procell (and when it’s urgent)
I’m big on follow-through. People come to me because they feel cared for, not rushed. One client said it perfectly: “I’m always excited to visit Dhin because I know I’ll always be taken care of and leave glowing!” That doesn’t stop when you walk out the door.
Usually normal
- Redness that looks like a sunburn
- Mild swelling or tightness
- Dryness and light flaking a few days later
Reach out to me the same day if you notice
- Increasing pain, worsening heat, or redness that keeps spreading
- Pus, unusual drainage, fever, or chills
- Bleeding that doesn’t stop or anything that feels “not right” to you
Local follow-up option: If you’re nearby in Downtown San Bruno (San Bruno Village along San Mateo Avenue), I can usually fit a quick aftercare check so you don’t spend days guessing. I also see clients coming in from South San Francisco, Millbrae, Burlingame, Daly City, Colma, and Brisbane for easy post-treatment visits.
Procell Treatment, 90 minutes: price and what’s included
My Procell Treatment, 90 minutes is $350. The session includes numbing for comfort, Celluma Elite LED (led light therapy facial support), a hydrating mask, cryo globes, and a hand and foot massage. If you’re planning this around work, travel, or a big event, tell me your timeline. I’ll help you pick a date that makes the first 72 hours realistic.
